Lotus Cars is a British manufacturer of sports and racing cars based at Hethel, Norfolk, England. The company designs and builds race and production automobiles of light weight and high handling characteristics. Located just 10 miles south-west of Norwich, in East Anglia. Lotus was formed as Lotus Engineering Ltd. by the engineer Colin Chapman, in 1952. Team Lotus was active and competitive in Formula One racing from 1958 to 1994. Since the 1960s the company has occupied a modern factory and road test facility at Hethel, near Wymondham.

Lotus Cars mainly manufacture three models. The famous models include; Lotus 2-Eleven, Lotus Elise, Lotus Exige. The Lotus 2-Eleven is a car produced by British car manufacturer Lotus. It based on the Lotus Exige S, and thus has the same supercharged 2ZZ-GE engine. Weighing 670 kg and with, the 2-Eleven can sprint from 0-60 in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 155 249 km/h.The Lotus Elise is a roadster conceived in early 1994 and released in September 1996 by the English manufacturer Lotus Cars. The car has a hand-finished fiberglass body shell atop its aluminium extrusion and bonded frame that provides a rigid platform for the suspension, while keeping weight and production costs to a minimum. It can reach speeds up to 240 km/h. The Lotus Exige is a two-door, two-seat sports car made by Lotus Cars. It is essentially a coupe version of the Lotus Elise, which is a roadster. The original Exige was launched in 2000 and had a 1.8 L Rover K Series engine. It produced 170 bhp in standard form and in the VHPD version. Compared to the Elise, it had wider wheel arches, a front splitter, a large rear spoiler and a fiberglass roof.
